Frequently Asked Questions
Open RunRivals, go to Settings → Step Sync, and choose your platform (Health on iOS or Google Fit on Android). Follow the prompts to grant permission — once enabled, the app will automatically record steps in the background. If you see no steps after enabling, try restarting the app and ensuring background app refresh is allowed.
Common causes: (1) Step permissions were not granted — double-check Settings → Step Sync. (2) Background refresh or battery saver is blocking updates — enable Background App Refresh (iOS) or disable battery optimization for RunRivals (Android). (3) If you recently enabled syncing, allow a few minutes for the first upload. Rebooting your phone often resolves lingering sync issues.
You can play locally without an account, but creating an account lets you back up progress, access leaderboards, and compete with friends. Visit Profile in game to sign up or link an existing account.
